PARISH PARK REVISED PROPOSALS

UPDATED – 18.11.2025
St Saviour Park – You Said, We Listened
Thank you to everyone who shared their views on the proposed St Saviour Park. Following your feedback, the plans have been updated, the community centre and pétanque pitch have been removed, with the focus now on green space, play, and accessibility.
A refined version of the original scheme is being proposed following the feasibility cost assessment, which confirmed that the full project—including the wider programme of community facilities—cannot be delivered within the funds currently available to the Parish. No external Government funding has been allocated for these capital works, and the Maison Connétable Ozouf (MCO) Fund remains the primary financing source. As such, the Parish must act responsibly within the limits of this ring-fenced resource.
In response to the feasibility findings, the scheme has been focused on the essential, high-impact elements that can be delivered at this stage. The revised proposal prioritises:
- Establishing the new parking facility;
- Delivering the key walkway, landscaping, and trail connections;
- Children’s Play area and toilet facilities and;
- Implementing critical road-safety improvements on St Saviour’s Hill, Patier Road as well as Birches Avenue.
This approach enables the Parish to secure the core public benefits—safe access, improved connectivity, and a high-quality green space—while deferring non-essential components until additional funding becomes available.
Approval is being sought for an initial £3.1 million. Even in its scaled-back form, the scheme will deliver a meaningful community asset that promotes wellbeing, supports active travel, and strengthens connections between the Parish Hall, the Church, the school, and the wider community.
Plans are provided below and will also be available on display at the Parish Hall between 18/11/2025 to 02/12/2025.
