The Parish of St Saviour is responsible for maintaining approximately 28 miles of B-class roads, comprising 87 roads and associated footpaths. This includes street cleaning, drainage maintenance, minor resurfacing works, and the upkeep of street lighting, road signs, and road markings.

The Parish also maintains a range of highway and public realm assets, including over 40 dog waste bins, bollards, and other street furniture that help keep public spaces safe, clean, and accessible.

In addition, the Parish manages 149 streetlights and an extensive surface water drainage network of culverts, gullies, and surface channels. These assets are maintained on a planned basis to manage surface water, reduce flood risk, and ensure the safe operation of the road network, with service levels adjusted seasonally or during adverse weather.

Fly Tipping

Fly-tipping is a criminal offence, and it is illegal to dispose of waste in unauthorised locations. Offenders who are prosecuted may be liable to a fine of up to £500. Where fly-tipping results in pollution, penalties may include an unlimited fine and/or up to two years’ imprisonment.
