Subject: Storm Ciarán – Severe Weather Warning- Operational Services Update 15:00

We want to bring to your attention the severe weather conditions expected in the coming days. Storm Ciarán is forecasted to affect the Island, with the evening of Wednesday, 1st November, and the daytime on Thursday, 2nd November, being the most critical periods.

In response to this, Parish officials convened an Emergency Severe Weather Preparedness Meeting earlier today. We will be providing updates on various services that may face disruptions due to the storm. While we await comprehensive information from the Government of Jersey, we strongly advise all parishioners to exercise utmost caution during this time.

Here are some important recommendations:

Avoid travelling: Only make journeys that are necessary and allow extra time.

Appointments: Check whether any scheduled appointments are essential or if they can be rescheduled to a safer time.

Support Vulnerable Neighbours: If you have vulnerable neighbours or relatives, consider checking in on them to ensure their well-being and that they have all the necessary supplies.

Reporting Debris and other concerns (out of hours):

Should you encounter fallen trees or road obstructions including flooding, please report them promptly;

For major routes such as St Saviour’s Hill, Bagatelle Road, La Grande Route de St Martin, and Rue de Maufant, reach out to the Government of Jersey on 445509, the States of Jersey Police on 612612 (option 2 and 4), or contact the St Saviour Duty Centenier on 735864 or 07797716661.

The Parish Hall/Duty Centenier telephone lines will be manned and the Parish will have a roads team on standby throughout Wednesday night into Thursday morning*

Secure Loose Items: Homeowners are advised to secure any outdoor loose items, such as chairs and tables, to prevent them from becoming hazardous in strong winds.

Emergency Response Centre: we prepared to open the PH should there be that requirement from the Government of jersey.
