Decider Skills – Jersey Employment Trust

In 2025, The Jersey Employment Trust received £1,000 from the Parish of St Saviour to support running Decider Skills sessions for Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition. Decider Skills help people recognise thoughts and feelings, allowing them to manage their emotions and mental health.

JET said: ‘Since we received the funding, Decider Skills have been delivered to 12 clients, in two different groups. We received positive feedback that the courses have helped them to find relatable tools to manage their emotions. Clients tend to find one or two key takeaways, Decider Skills that they can remember easily and find useable. Your funding has allowed us to buy new booklets and we are going to invest in some new props, flipcharts and writing materials. We are also looking to buy some new mood lighting for sensory needs as our lights are too bright. All these things appear quite small but they make a tremendous difference to those who need them.’
