Heavy Rainfall Warning – Parish of St Saviour
The Parish of St Saviour wishes to advise parishioners that Jersey Met is forecasting persistent and heavy rainfall for the Channel Islands today and overnight.
Rain is expected to begin late this afternoon (Tuesday), becoming heavy at times this evening and overnight. Further rain and heavy showers are forecast throughout tomorrow.
➡️ More than 25mm of rain is expected
➡️ There is a risk of localised flooding
➡️ Travel disruption is likely in some areas due to surface water and poor visibility
Parishioners are advised to:
➡️ Avoid driving through flooded roads
➡️ Check for blocked drains and watercourses around your property
➡️ Stay informed via local news and Jersey Met weather updates
➡️ Take extra care and allow additional time for journeys
The Parish team is currently checking gulleys and drainage systems and will continue to monitor updates from Jersey Met closely. Particular attention is being given to areas including Grands Vaux, Rue des Pigneaux, Rue de la Vignette, Rue Messervey, Rue à la Dame, Champ Colin, Rue de Hambie and Rue de Vieux Menage.
The Parish team will also be out early tomorrow morning to inspect roads and respond to any issues.
