Parish Rates update  & How to pay your Parish Rates online.

The Parish of St Saviour is pleased to confirm that, following the Parish Rates Assembly held on Wednesday, 16 July 2026, parishioners approved a freeze in the Parish Rate, which remains at 1.59p for the financial year ending 30 April 2027.

The Annual Report and Accounts for 2025/26, together with the Estimates and operational priorities for 2026/27, were presented to the Assembly and adopted.

Despite increasing costs, the Parish has been able to maintain the rate whilst continuing to invest in the services and infrastructure that matter most to our community.

Where Your Rates Go

The Parish Rate represents approximately 86% of the Parish’s total income and funds the essential services that parishioners rely on every day, including:

  • Highway maintenance, resurfacing and drainage improvements.
  • Maintenance of Parish buildings, including the Parish Hall, Church and Rectory.
  • Street cleaning, parks, open spaces and public amenities including Church.
  • Community support and assistance for parishioners.
  • Emergency planning and business continuity.
  • Essential frontline and customer services.

The Estimates also include a £200,000 contribution towards future capital investment, supporting the Parish Hall refurbishment programme and future road resurfacing projects.

Looking Ahead

The Parish remains committed to delivering high-quality, value-for-money services whilst carefully managing public finances.

Our priorities over the coming year include:

  • Reducing reliance on rates by growing other income streams where appropriate.
  • Continuing to manage costs efficiently without reducing service standards.
  • Continue to Invest in roads, drainage and traffic improvements.
  • Maintaining and improving key Parish buildings.
  • Ensuring the Parish remains financially resilient
