New Recycling Scheme for 2024
Constable Lewis would like to issue a friendly reminder to all parishioners regarding the new recycling collection procedures set to commence next week (From Monday 8th January)
The new recycling scheme involves the implementation of a two-bag system for recycling, starting this month. This initiative is a stride towards our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The details of the two-bag system are as follows:
- Blue Bag: This is designated for all paper and cardboard recyclables.
- Clear Bag: Use this for clean plastic bottles and household metal packaging, such as food and drink cans.
Why the Change?
This change to the recycling is process is aimed at reducing contamination and increasing the efficiency of our recycling efforts. By separating recyclables into these specific categories, we ensure a positive impact on our environment and further our dedication to sustainable practices.
Please ensure that you use the designated bags according to the guidelines provided and place them out for collection as instructed. Detailed information regarding these changes, along with additional guidance, has been communicated to all homes within the parish through letters. For further information and updates, please visit our recycling web page.
Glass Collections
In addition, we would like to inform you of a slight adjustment to the monthly glass collections.
Starting immediately, the collections traditionally carried out in the third week of each month will now take place in the first week. This change is driven by an improved collection method, enhanced safety measures for our colleagues, and a commitment to simplify the process for our community.
Your participation and cooperation in embracing this new and improved recycling scheme is invaluable. We appreciate your commitment to these efforts and thank you for your continued support in making our recycling process more efficient and effective.
