Recruitment – Assistant Parish Secretary (full time)

St. Saviour’s Parish Hall provides a civic service to over 14,000 parishioners and businesses across a varied scope of duties covering Parish Rates, Pre Planning Advice, Driving License applications, Liquor Licensing advice and dog licenses.

We have a new role working directly into the Executive Officer (Parish Secretary) to manage and drive our shared services team across Finance, Property, Health & Safety, HR and critically our customer services function.  The role leads a team to deliver exceptional service with efficient output day to day; as well as well as supervising financial, regulatory and compliance operations. You will also drive projects and Parish team initiatives including elections support. You should be a motivated and qualified accounts professional with proven management experience to oversee the financial elements of Parish services and top quality services to Parishioners and businesses across St Saviour. 

You need CAT accounting or a minimum advanced bookkeeping qualification with proven experience of applying your skills to a business with turnover in excess of £3m and evidence of driving excellence from a customer services team to deliver to the highest standards.  As a service provider we require an excellent command of verbal and written English, the adaptability to learn HR processes and basic employment law, property law, licensing and Health & Safety, as well as proficiency in office systems, such as Word, Excel and the ability to learn other core applications.  Above all you need an unflustered approach to juggling multiple tasks and exceptional flair for team leadership and customer service.
